June has been another busy month for Refurbr, with new features designed to help refurbishment businesses automate more of their operations, improve marketplace performance and streamline financial processes.
From expanded BuyBack integrations and smarter marketplace management to enhanced Marginal VAT automation and flexible asset pricing, this month's releases continue to strengthen Refurbr as the complete operating platform for the tech refurbishment industry.
Alongside these headline features, we've continued refining the workflows that matter most to refurbishers, helping businesses process more devices, improve inventory accuracy and scale with confidence.
Whether you're buying devices, managing refurbishment workflows, selling across multiple marketplaces or handling customer returns, these updates are designed to help your teams work faster while reducing manual administration.
Here's a summary of what's new
- Faster fulfilment for refurbished devices
- BuyBack API expands integration possibilities
- Stronger marketplace coverage and stock synchronisation
- Smarter Marginal VAT automation
- Per-asset pricing for greater flexibility
- More reliable Wowcher and Neuro integrations
- Every day improvements across Refurbr
Let's take a closer look at what's new in Refurbr and how it benefits your refurbishment business.
๐ Faster fulfilment for refurbished devices
One-Click Booking at the End of Pack
Dispatching refurbished devices is now faster and more efficient. The Pack window can now book the courier and print the shipping label as soon as an order finishes packing. A new Shipping Rules engine automatically matches each order to the right courier and service in the background, so your team can confirm the shipment and move straight on to the next device.
Key highlights:
- Courier Shipping Rules introduce a configurable layer for automated courier booking, allowing administrators to define exactly which courier and service should be used for different orders.
- Per-facility booking automation lets each warehouse or refurbishment centre opt in independently, with eligibility checks that clearly explain when an order can't be auto-booked.
- Per-user default label printers ensure shipping labels are automatically printed at the correct packing bench, reducing unnecessary handling.
- Tracking URL templates can now be configured at courier and service level, making it easy to include accurate tracking links in customer communications.
Whether you're dispatching individual refurbished devices or fulfilling high volumes of customer orders, these improvements streamline fulfilment, reduce manual administration and help quality devices reach their next owner faster, supporting more efficient circular economy operations.
๐ Open Up BuyBacks Through the API
BuyBack API Endpoints
BuyBacks are now available via the public API, opening the door to external intake channels, partner integrations and bespoke quote flows. Customers can create BuyBack records, check status and surface re-offered pricing all without touching the dashboard.
Key highlights:
- Create BuyBack records from external systems with the same validation rules as the dashboard intake flow.
- Status and re-offer retrieval lets partner systems and front-end channels poll for live updates as records move through their lifecycle.
- Full API documentation ships alongside the endpoints, ready to share with integration partners.
This unlocks a new layer of automation for BuyBacks and aligns the workflow with the rest of the public Refurbr API.
๐ Stronger Marketplace Coverage and Sync
BackMarket as a Standalone Channel
BackMarket now appears as its own first-class channel in the Marketplace Coverage view, with per-SKU visibility of the last stock value pushed and the timestamp of that push. The previous shared view with Neuro has been cleanly separated, making channel-level reporting more accurate.
Smarter Stock Availability Across Channels
We've strengthened how Refurbr calculates pre-allocated stock for channel sync. Orders in AWAITING CONCLUSION with un-dispatched physical items are now properly accounted for, preventing inflated quantities from being published to BackMarket, Refurbed, Channels API and other connected marketplaces. The change is rolled out across all three channel inventory readers for consistency.
Reliable Wowcher and Neuro Order Flow
We've refined how Wowcher orders pull through Neuro, with smarter pagination and an enhanced rescue sweep that ensures even high-volume orders make it across cleanly. Wowcher sales prices now import using the actual discounted purchase price, with tax reverse-calculated from the gross amount to match customer expectations.
These enhancements help refurbishment businesses maintain accurate stock levels, improve marketplace reporting and reduce synchronisation issues across multiple sales channels.
๐ท Smarter VAT at the Point of Dispatch
Automatic Marginal Scheme Upgrade
When an order is imported, the VAT scheme is locked in based on the information available at that moment. Sometimes, however, the assets actually pulled and packed turn out to have been purchased under the Marginal scheme. Refurbr now spots that automatically at dispatch and upgrades the sale and invoice to Marginal before the tax point is finalised, so the financial position reflects what really shipped.
- Eligibility checked per asset against the originating purchase order, so the upgrade only applies when every dispatched item qualifies.
- UK-only and asset-tagged orders are upgraded automatically, with bulk or SKU-based items left untouched as a safety boundary.
- Sales, sale items, invoices and invoice items are all recalculated in a single, atomic pass, so figures stay aligned across the order lifecycle.
- Full audit logging captures every upgrade with the order reference, invoice number and the verified asset tags, so finance teams can reconstruct any decision instantly.
The result is more accurate VAT treatment with no extra clicks, no spreadsheet reconciliation and no risk of mismatch between sale and invoice.
๐ท More Flexible Device Pricing
Per-Asset Sale Pricing
Inventory now supports an Asset Sale Price alongside the SKU sale price, so individually priced assets can be marked up or down without affecting the wider SKU. Pricing falls back to the SKU sale price when no asset-level price is set, so existing behaviour stays intact unless you choose to override it.
For refurbishment businesses selling individually graded devices, this provides greater pricing flexibility while maintaining efficient inventory management.
โจ Everyday Improvements Across Refurbr
Manual RMA References
Manual RMA references are now retained automatically when records are saved, helping streamline returns and repair workflows. This small enhancement reduces unnecessary rework, improves day-to-day efficiency and makes it easier for customer service and refurbishment teams to manage RMAs with confidence.
